Fair-use policy
“Unlimited” in our plans means: no hard cap as long as your usage fits within normal use by one customer. No calculator, no fear of switching something on, no hidden fee if you have a quiet week and then a busy month.
How it works in practice
The CMS shows a banner as soon as your storage or your video minutes reach 80% or more of your limit, and on a plan with a hard screen limit also for your screens. No email comes at 100% and nothing stops automatically.
A soft cap is not a legal limit, it is a conversation starter. If you are structurally above what we had planned for, we look together at whether you are on the right plan.
What falls under fair use
- Screens above the included number, on a plan without a hard screen limit: you keep buying at the overage rate
- Video minutes per month: the CMS shows a banner from 80%, playback does not stop
- Webhook deliveries, transactional emails and realtime connections: we have no limit and no counter here
For these items you get no blocking. If you are far above what a normal customer does, we get in touch.
What has a hard limit
Some items do have a hard limit:
- Storage: over the limit, an upload is refused. See Storage per plan for the numbers and for freeing up space
- AI generations per month on Free: over the cap you get “You have used all your free AI scenes this month. A paid plan gives you more.” until the new billing cycle or an upgrade to Starter+. For Starter, Pro, Business and Agency, AI runs on pay-as-you-go: €0.10 per generation above the included number, no blocking.
- API and MCP calls: at most 60 per minute per connected app. Above that, the API temporarily refuses the call with an error message (HTTP 429)
- One AI scene at a time per user: a second scene that you start while the first is still running gets “A scene is already being generated. Wait until it is done.” Colleagues in the same account do generate at the same time.
- Maximum file size per upload: see the separate page. Over the cap = upload refused with a clear message
Real abuse
No customer needs 1 million screens or 100 GB of uploads per hour. If we notice script abuse, such as automated bulk uploads of hundreds of GB or scraping, we get in touch and, where needed, pause the account temporarily. The goal is not for you to pay more, but that one customer cannot shut the service down for others.
Questions
