Activation code does not work
You type the code from the screen into the CMS and get an invalid or expired code error. There are three possible causes.
1. The code has expired
Activation codes expire automatically after a few minutes. Did the player show the code a while ago? Then it has probably been replaced.
Fix: have the player generate a new code. Two ways:
- Reboot the player (unplug it, wait, plug it back in). A new code appears at startup.
- Wait. Some players generate a new code every few minutes without a reboot. Just watch the screen.
2. Typo in the code
Activation codes use capital letters and digits. The digit 0 (zero) looks like the letter O, and 1 looks like I or l.
Fix: look closely at the code. The CMS field only accepts valid characters, so if you type O where a 0 belongs, the system finds no match.
3. The code belongs to another tenant
If you have several tenants, or you try to pair a player that is still linked to someone else’s account, you get this error.
Fix: check that you are in the right tenant (top right in the CMS). If the player belongs to someone else, unlink it on their side first.
If it keeps failing
The code is accepted but the screen stays on the waiting image
This is not a code problem but a content problem. The pairing worked, but no content is linked. Open the screen detail page and link a playlist.
The player does not generate a code
The player has no internet. See player offline for the wifi checklist.
We lost a player and want to remove it from the overview
Delete the screen in the CMS via Screens → ⋯ → Delete. The code on the old player then stops working; to pair it again you start over with a new activation code.
Thanks for your feedback.
