What is a schedule

A schedule (the Planning page in the CMS) determines when which playlist appears on your screen. You arrange blocks on a timeline. Each block assigns a time slot to a specific playlist.

When to use a schedule

A schedule is the right choice when you want content to differ per time slot:

• A breakfast menu in the morning, a lunch menu in the afternoon
• Promos during opening hours, a closing message afterwards
• Special Christmas content from 1 December
• New properties in the window in the evening, the classic selection during the day

What if nothing is planned

Outside planned time slots, the player follows your fallback setting. Often that is “play the linked playlist”: a safety net for unplanned moments so your screen never stays black.

Difference with a sequence

A schedule works with the clock. A sequence works with order: several playlists one after another without a time slot. If you want a long rotation with no time sensitivity, choose a sequence.
