What is a playlist

A playlist is an ordered list of content items that play one after another on a screen and then start over. It is the most used building block for getting content onto a screen.

What belongs in a playlist

• Templates with data from an integration (for example a property from Whise)
• Images, videos or image slideshows from the media library
• Web pages that are embedded through a URL

For each item you set a duration in seconds. For videos, gibeon.io follows the actual video length by default.

Example

A reception playlist:

1. Welcome message (10 sec)
2. Promo of the week (15 sec)
3. Instagram feed (20 sec)
4. Opening hours (10 sec)

Total 55 seconds, then it starts over from item 1.

One playlist, several screens

A playlist does not have to be tied to one screen. One playlist can play on ten screens at the same time. If you change something in the playlist, all linked screens get that change automatically.
