Show a Google Sheet

With a Google Sheet you put a table on your screen, for example a price list or an occupancy overview. You link the Sheet with the CSV or JSON link source: you paste a link and gibeon.io reads the rows.

There are two ways to make the Sheet reachable. In both cases, paste the address into Link in the CSV or JSON link tile. You find that tile under Design › Data via New source. After pasting, click Check, choose the columns and click Add.

Share with anyone with the link

  1. In the Google Sheet, click Share.
  2. Under General access, choose Anyone with the link.
  3. Paste the regular link of the Sheet.

Publish to the web

  1. In the Google Sheet, choose File › Share › Publish to web.
  2. Choose CSV as the format.
  3. Paste the link that Google shows.

What the screen shows

  • Up to four columns of the Sheet, in the order you choose.
  • At most 100 rows.
  • gibeon.io fetches the link again every 15 minutes.
  • Two layouts: a landscape table with 8 rows per page and a portrait table with 12 rows per page. With more rows, the screen pages through them.

Limits

  • The link must be public: reachable without a login and without an API key.
  • A Sheet that is not shared with anyone with the link and not published to the web does not work.
  • gibeon.io does not ask for a Google account.

All steps, the error messages and the sample files are in the article about the CSV or JSON link.
