Proof of Play

With Proof of Play you can see which content played on which screen, and when. Available on Pro and Business.

Where do I find it?

Settings → Proof of play.

What do I see?

A list of played content items. Per item:

  • Time
  • Device
  • Name of the content (or “(removed)” if the content has been deleted)
  • Type
  • Measured play time

You can filter by device, period (last 24 hours / last 7 days / last 30 days) and type.

CSV export

Click “Download CSV”. The export contains all rows that match the current filters, not just the visible page. Maximum 50,000 rows per export.

Limitations in this version

We are open about what the MVP does and does not do:

  • 30-day retention. Older events are deleted automatically.
  • Native video shows planned duration, not measured. For video that plays outside the webview on the gibeon.io player kiosk box, we currently measure the planned duration (from the playlist), not the actual play time. A follow-up changes this to measured duration.
  • Offline periods are not marked separately. If a device was offline for a few hours or days, you see a gap in the report. That gap looks the same as “the screen was running but played nothing”. A later version marks those gaps explicitly.
  • CSV only. No PDF report with a digital signature. For advertising billing with legal evidential value this is not (yet) suitable.
  • Up to ~3 weeks of offline buffer per device. A device that stays offline for longer than ~3 weeks and keeps playing loses the oldest events.
