What is a zone

A zone is a rectangular part of a screen with its own content. By dividing a screen into zones, you show several things on the same glass.

When to use zones

When a single content item should not or must not fill the whole screen:

  • A large property on the left, contact details on the right
  • Menu card at the top, prices at the bottom
  • Live video with a social media feed next to it

One zone shows one content stream. The same screen can show a rotation of properties in zone 1 and a static banner in zone 2 at the same time.

What zones look like

Zones are built into a template. A template chooses a layout type (fullscreen, split-screen, elegant-stacked, gallery-grid) and sets the zones within that layout. Once a template is chosen, the zone division is fixed. What plays in each zone you can vary per zone.

Difference with several screens

Two screens next to each other = two separate players, two separate content rotations. One screen with two zones = one player, one template, two parts within the same glass. The choice often depends on physical constraints and how you want to divide the message visually.
