What is a sequence

A sequence is an ordered row of playlists that play one after another. The first playlist plays all the way through, then the second, and so on, and at the end of the last playlist the sequence starts over.

When to use a sequence

When you want to divide your content into themes without a specific theme having to play at a specific moment.

Example, a real estate agent:

  1. Playlist New properties this week
  2. Playlist Top selection
  3. Playlist Services and team

Each playlist has its own content and its own visual style. The player goes through them one by one and lets the sequence run continuously.

Difference with a playlist

A playlist is a row of content items. A sequence is a row of playlists. Sequences exist to keep your content structured instead of cramming everything into one gigantic playlist.

Difference with a schedule

A schedule ties content to a time slot. A sequence knows no time. It just keeps going, in order, endlessly. If you want the same structure but tied to time, you can put different sequences on different blocks in a schedule.
