What is a screen

A screen in gibeon.io is one activated physical display (a TV, monitor or tablet) linked to a player that shows content.

How gibeon.io sees your screens

Every activated screen has its own name, a unique ID and a status. The player sends a short heartbeat to gibeon.io every 30 seconds. Based on that heartbeat you see in Screens whether a device is online or offline.

What belongs to a screen

  • A name that you choose, for example Shop window Antwerp or Office entrance hall
  • A linked content source (a playlist, schedule or sequence)
  • An orientation (landscape or portrait)
  • A device type that the player reports (Android, browser, …)
  • A fallback setting for when there is no planned content

One player, one screen

Each player can work on only one gibeon.io screen at a time. If you want to put two screens somewhere, you need two players, each with its own activation code.
