Samsung is winding MagicINFO down toward VXT. If you're rethinking your setup anyway, here's how Gibeon compares before you buy more per-screen licenses.

What Samsung MagicINFO does well

MagicINFO is deeply tied to Samsung Smart Signage. If your screens are already Tizen panels, the integration is hard to beat. The content scheduling is mature, the device-side remote management is detailed, and you get years of refinement behind it. The on-premise option matters for organizations that want data to stay inside their own walls, on their own MagicINFO Server. And a perpetual license, paid once per screen, fits buyers who'd rather avoid a monthly subscription. For a Samsung-only fleet that needs heavy scheduling control, it's a serious tool.

Where Samsung MagicINFO falls short

There's no free tier, not even a small permanent one. Gibeon runs 3 screens free, forever, no trial clock. On hosting, MagicINFO is EU-global; Gibeon keeps all data in the EU with GDPR by default on every plan. Setup is the other gap: MagicINFO assumes Samsung Tizen hardware and device-level management, while Gibeon pairs a screen by pasting a URL, no login or app on the screen itself, any display. There's no generative AI in MagicINFO, so you build every scene by hand. And it runs only on Samsung panels, where Gibeon doesn't care what screen you plug in.

Switching from Samsung MagicINFO

You don't replace your panels. Point any screen, Samsung included, at a Gibeon URL in the browser and it's live. Rebuild your key playlists with the prompt-based scene tool instead of porting the old content scheduling one slide at a time. Start on the free 3-screen tier, confirm it does what your MagicINFO Server did, then add screens. Most offices are running the same day.

Frequently asked questions

Samsung is pushing me to VXT anyway. Why not just go there?

VXT is cloud-only and needs Tizen 4.0 or newer, so S6 and older panels fall outside it. MagicINFO 8 stopped getting patches in October 2023, and On-Premise hits End of Sale in December 2026. If you're forced to move, it's a fair moment to check an option that isn't tied to Samsung hardware at all.

We kept data on our own MagicINFO Server. Is the cloud a problem?

Fair concern. Gibeon is cloud, but all data stays on EU-region infrastructure with GDPR applied by default on every plan, not as a paid add-on. You won't get the on-premise box, but you also won't be managing server patches and license renewals yourself.

Is the per-month price actually cheaper than a one-time license?

Depends on screen count and horizon. A perpetual license looks cheaper on paper, but it's per screen, with no patches after the cutoff dates. Gibeon's flat tiers (€39/99/299) cover many screens at once, and the free 3-screen tier costs nothing while you compare.

Plug one screen into the free tier this afternoon and see how the URL pairing feels versus the Tizen setup. No license to buy first.
