Installing gibeon.io player on the Google TV Streamer
Four steps, about five minutes from unboxing to pairing.
- Connect the Streamer to your TV over HDMI and to power.
- Run through the Google TV first-time setup (Wi-Fi, Google account).
- Open the Play Store, search for "gibeon.io player" and install.
- Open the app. The activation code is on the screen. Enter it at app.gibeon.io to link the device.
What to set up
Turn on these five options before you leave the screen running unattended.
Enable HDMI-CEC
On both the stick and the TV. That way the TV turns on and off automatically with the Streamer.
Auto-update apps
In the Play Store settings. gibeon.io player then stays up to date on its own.
Turn off the screensaver
Settings → System → Screensaver → "Never". Stops the screen from jumping to the Google logo after a few minutes.
Display over other apps for gibeon.io player
Settings → Apps → Special access → "Display over other apps" → gibeon.io player → On. Keeps the signage overlay on top.
Turn off inactivity sleep
Settings → System → Power → "Never". A signage screen should never drop into standby.
