Raspberry Pi
We do not actively support the Raspberry Pi: we answer questions, but we do not test on every Pi and cannot guarantee it works. gibeon.io does run on it through the browser.
Starting gibeon.io on a Raspberry Pi
There is no app: you open the player in Chromium on Raspberry Pi OS.
- Start Raspberry Pi OS with a desktop and a network connection.
- Open a terminal and start Chromium in kiosk mode: chromium --kiosk https://p.gibeon.io (on an older Raspberry Pi OS: chromium-browser instead of chromium)
- The activation code is on the screen. Enter it at app.gibeon.io to link the device.
What does not work
When does this fit best?
For people who already have a Raspberry Pi and set it up themselves. For a permanent screen without setup work, a Xiaomi TV Stick 4K or a Google TV Streamer is a better pick.
- ✓ A Pi you already have, without buying anything
- ✓ No app to install, just a browser
Frequently asked questions
Does gibeon.io support the Raspberry Pi?
Not actively. The player works in Chromium on the Pi, but we do not test on every Pi and cannot guarantee it works. We answer questions at [email protected].
Which Raspberry Pi do I need?
We do not test on every Pi, so we give no advice per model. Do know that a Pi 3 struggles with 1080p video.
Try it on your Pi
Open p.gibeon.io in Chromium, enter the code at app.gibeon.io, and see whether it is enough for your screen.
