Chromecast
A Chromecast with Google TV plays gibeon.io directly, with the app from the Play Store. An older Chromecast without Google TV can do it too: you cast a tab from Chrome on a computer.
Installing gibeon.io player on a Chromecast with Google TV
Four steps, just like on the Google TV Streamer.
- Connect the Chromecast to your TV over HDMI and to power.
- Run through the Google TV first-time setup (Wi-Fi, Google account).
- Open the Play Store, search for "gibeon.io player" and install.
- Open the app. The activation code is on the screen. Enter it at app.gibeon.io to link the device.
Older Chromecast, without Google TV
An older Chromecast does not run apps. You cast p.gibeon.io from Chrome on a computer. The computer has to stay on.
When does this fit best?
A Chromecast with Google TV suits a permanent screen. An older Chromecast suits a test or temporary use, because it needs a computer.
