Fire TV

We do not actively support Fire TV: we answer questions, but we do not test on every Fire TV and cannot guarantee it works. On a stick with Fire OS 8 you can install the Android app yourself.

Installing gibeon.io player on Fire TV

Fire TV has no Play Store, so you install the app yourself. You need Fire OS 8, which runs on Android 11, as on the 2023 Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

  1. Install the Downloader app on your Fire TV.
  2. Allow unknown apps for Downloader in your Fire TV settings.
  3. In Downloader, open https://cdn.gibeon.io/player/android/gibeon-player-latest.apk and confirm the installation.
  4. Open the app. The activation code is on the screen. Enter it at app.gibeon.io to link the device.

What does not work

Sticks with Vega OS
The Fire TV Stick 4K Select and the 2026 Fire TV Stick HD run Vega OS. Android apps do not run on it, so gibeon.io does not either.
No autostart
After a restart or power cut, the app does not start by itself. If another app comes to the front, the app does not come back by itself either.
No automatic updates
Without the Play Store, the app does not update itself. You install a new version again yourself.

When does this fit best?

For a test or a temporary screen, on a Fire TV you already have. For a permanent screen, a Xiaomi TV Stick 4K or a Google TV Streamer is a better pick.

  • ✓ A Fire TV you already own, without buying anything

Frequently asked questions

Does gibeon.io support Fire TV?

Not actively. The Android app runs on Fire OS 8, but we do not test on every Fire TV and cannot guarantee it works. We answer questions at [email protected].

My Fire TV Stick is new. Will it work?

That depends on the system. On Fire OS 8 you can install the app. Vega OS does not run Android apps, so gibeon.io does not work there.

Try it on your Fire TV

Install the app, enter the code at app.gibeon.io, and see whether it is enough for your screen.
